Program Description

• Monthly themed show and tell on the Library's 72-inch TV.
• Peer troubleshooting.
• Group outings and photography.
• How to publish your work on the Internet, YouTube, websites.

Bring you camera and pictures (USB drive or SD card).
Bring some (5-10) pictures on the theme for our next meeting to share. 
Try to bring these on a USB stick.

City of Toronto and One Book Award winner, Glen Downie reads from his new book "Local News". Set in the Junction, this prose collection is full of local flavour.

Local author Glen Downie, who is a previous winner of Toronto Public Library's One Book and also the City of Toronto Book Award for his book Loyalty Management, will be here Monday June 6, 7pm to speak and read from his new book Local News. This collection is set in The Junction and you will recognize many of the places he writes about.

Author reading from award-winning novelist Terry Fallis - "The Best Laid Plans"

Novelist Terry Fallis won the Stephen Leacock medal for humour in 2008 for his novel "The Best Laid Plans". In February 2011, this book won the Canada Reads Book Award as an essential Canadian book. Come meet Terry and hear about his path to publication and his humorous books, including his new book "The High Road".

There is also a Medicine Wheel teaching, special programs for Seniors, and a 2-part Personal Finance workshop.

Kara’s new novel "Rococo Brocade" is basically an eighteen century farce with a creative philosophy of social justice.

An evening of conversation with Kara Bogaz-Gol, the author of her new novel Rococo Brocade, and readings from the book to be chosen by the audience using stichomancy with musical accompaniment by Ian White.

Ian has been playing guitar since his older brother made the mistake of showing him a few chords. His brother hasn't seen his guitar since. Influenced by the fingerstyle guitar work of players like Don Ross & Michael Hedges, Ian uses his guitar to say what cannot be expressed in words.

Kara will discuss the books that influenced her work. She'll reveal some of the stories behind the story, poems which have never been published, some anecdotes about who is who in the novel, a new Nabokov ending for the next edition, and Q&A.

Please come and enjoy a fun filled evening.

On Dec 10 Annette Street Library will host an Amnesty International Write-a-thon in honour of International Human Rights Day. Drop in anytime between 12:30 - 8pm and write one or more letters. All materials will be provided. Please help promote this event by posting this flyer.
