A message from the Junction Residents' Association:
Function in the Junction #5 — Sat., March 29
JRA’s Function in the Junction #5 is coming up — evening of March 29, 2014, at the Masonic Temple, 151 Annette Street.
This annual event centers on food, drinks, music, silent and noisy auctions, and socializing with neighbours.
This year we will be raising funds for FutureWatch, a not-for-profit registered charitable organization, and their youth group Y-ECO Youth Environmental Community.
Posters for Function in The Junction are appearing in Dundas St. shop windows, and tickets ($50 including dinner provided by local restaurants) are on sale at Agora Cafe and at Latitude 44.
Dinner and silent auction begin at 6 pm, and the after-dinner events start at 8: live auction, raffles, and cash bar, with live music from 9 pm. Those who come after dinner pay just $5 at the door.

Agora Cafe #1:
Appetizer:
Salad
Ontario apple, walnut, endive and arugula salad, with honey vinegrette
Entree:
Individual Moroccan Pie
Butternut squash, marinated in a medley of spices and roasted cranberries, shallots, pistachios, almonds and spinach, layered with Agora hummus, enveloped in layers of phyllo pastry and baked to perfection.
Served with yogurt dressing.
Agora Cafe #2:
Appetizer:
Salad
Ontario apple, walnut, endive and arugula salad, with honey vinegrette
Entree:
Chickpea and Roasted Vegetable Tagine
A selection of seasonal vegetables and chikpeas slow cooked in a medley of spices on a bed of organic brown rice (gluten free).
North of Bombay #1
Appetizer:
Onion Bhaji
Chopped onions, green peppers and spices mixed with chick pea flour.
Entree:
Butter Chicken
Marinated chicken breast cooked in a fresh tomato sauce with herbs and cream
Served with:
Aloo gobi – cauliflower (gob(h)i) and potatoes (aloo) cooked with tomato, onion, herbs and spices.
Rice pulao - saffron basmati rice with vegetables.
Nan - unleavened bread made with white flour.
Mango chutney and lime pickle.
North of Bombay #2
Appetizer:
Onion Bhaji

Paneer Makhani
Homemade cottage cheese cubes cooked in a fresh tomato sauce with herbs and cream
Served with:
Aloo gobi – cauliflower (gob(h)i) and potatoes (aloo) cooked with tomato, onion, herbs and spices.
Rice pulao - saffron basmati rice with vegetables.
Nan - unleavened bread made with white flour.
Mango chutney and lime pickle.

About Y-Eco – Youth Environmental Community
Y-Eco – Youth Environmental Community, is a youth community club part and parcel of FutureWatch EDEP, involving environmentally passionate youth to take active leadership in the betterment of the planet and building a more knowledgable, eco-conscious foundation in the community!
