WHY DO WE DO THIS?
Not only does this event support our neighbourhood businesses, but it also raises funds to support a variety of programs that promote access to healthy food, including a food voucher program in partnership with The Four Villages Community Health Centre. The voucher program facilitates equitable access to local healthy food for low income residents in the community. Last year the market was able to help over 160 families to receive access to healthy food.

Bands: The Junction Summer Solstice Festival, June 24, 2017

TUNS, the Canadian 'supergroup', will be headlining this year’s Junction Summer Solstice Festival.

TUNS, comprised of Chris Murphy from Sloan, Matt Murphy of The Super Friendz, and The Inbreds’ Mike O'Neill, TUNS will end out the evening on Saturday June 24th with their 10:30pm set on the main stage. This is an exciting new band of equals, of collaborators, of experienced veterans who sound as exuberant as ever. It’s like a music geek’s version of fantasy baseball. The band’s self-titled debut album was released at the end of last summer.

Schedule: Snug As A Bug Kid’s Zone at the Summer Solstice in the Junction

Heintzman Street will be turned into the new Snug as a Bug Kids Zone! This year, we're bringing live music to the Night Market!

Bradley James McGoey, will be opening up the stage with upbeat campfire inspired tunes. Bradley is a regular busker at the Junction Farmers Market, and he is looking forward to singing with you into the night!

The band, Gestures will be performing at the Junction Night Market this year!

Our main act of the night will be Gestures, a local Toronto band, with an indie folk inspired sound.This young group of musicians has written and produced their own EP Things of the Heart, and will be performing originals and covers later in the evening.

Be sure to bring your dancing shoes, friends!

The word L'Imnarja (L-Imnarja) comes from the word luminarja (meaning "illumination"), which in turn is derived from the Latin word Luminare - to light up. The people manifest this by lighting bonfires and candles. This day is a public holiday in Malta and Gozo.

This year you will be able to explore 18 venues and see fine photographic works of 20+ artists from May 1 - 31. This is yet again, the highest concentration of photography in the City, for the duration of the internationally acclaimed CONTACT Photography Festival.

The Junction BIA will kick-off CONTACT Photography Festival with an opening reception event on May 4th. From 6PM-10 PM a special opening reception at Dundas St. West and Pacific Avenue will invite you into a photography gala event.

A Wonderful Day at The Junction Farm Fest

I had such a wonderful day at The Junction Farm Fest, helping with the Toronto Bee Co-Op at the train platform with a wonderful gentleman called Oliver. My favorite honey was the blueberry / raspberry blossom and the buckwheat honey was delicious as well.

It was a happy day offering people samples of raw honey, raspberry honey, cinnamon honey, wildflower honey and Royal Jelly as well as hand creams, candles and bee venom cream for arthritis. Hearing about the sacred bee and being asked if I will help out with the booth at The Whole Life Expo on November 26th.

I did a quick tour of the Mavety Street section and saw Janis taking rustic Kaleidoscope photos with chickens and bales of straw and great hats to choose from. I saw sheep and goats as well as chickens and bees.

Ice cream at the platform was heaven, a wonderful lady appeared with a spoonful for me to try. I can truly say I had the time of my life today. It really was fun and the music was fabulous. The whole thing was so well organized and I love my little piece of wood name tag and the ornate beeswax egg candle I treated myself to as a souvenir of the day, to bring me fond memories in the future.

This year the Hot Docs teams up with local festivals and organizations to present select screenings of award-winners from film festivals around the globe.
