Some of the beautiful sakura cherry trees start blooming this weekend - Mother's Day Weekend!

To see the most trees in bloom all at once (Hanami) go on the May Long Weekend Victoria Day.

If you want to avoid crowds and the hassle of parking and long lineups for washrooms then go on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday. (14,15,16 of May)

Eurovision Song Contest - Copenhagen 2014

The popular Eurovision Song Contest, which began in 1956, has helped launch the careers of acts like Canada’s Celine Dion (who sang for Switzerland) and ABBA.

26 broadcasters are participating with their contestant in the Grand Final while juries and viewers in 37 participating countries will vote. But who will win the trophy?

The 2013 winner of the annual Eurovision song contest was Danish singer Emmelie de Forest with her ethno-inspired flute and drum tune Only Teardrops:
