Event Details:
On June 6, 2008 Christ Church Deer Park is hosting a sparkling and magnificent evening of opera and operetta in a programme to include arias and duets from Bizet, Tchaikovsky, Verdi, Bernstein, Strauss, Lehar, Kalman, and much more.
Performers are Helena Holl (Soprano), Jan Vaculik (Bass-Baritone), Artour Razgoev (Tenor), Nina Shapilsky (Soloist Pianist). The show is also narrated by Anthony Morizio and Violetta Holl.

Performers will let the magic of the operetta take over from famous composers such as Verdi, Bizet, Bernstein and Kalman. You will enjoy a new program showcasing most cherished arias and duets in the original language.
This opera and operetta performance is in good timing with the opening night of the second annual Luminato, Toronto's Festival of Arts + Creativity 2008.

Off Topic: An evening of opera and operetta
"...Friday’s performance, also featuring the soprano Helena Holl and bass-baritone Jan Vaculik, and accompanied by Mila Pashanova on piano, had two very different parts. The first half was six arias and scenes from Bizet’s Carmen, with two piano intermezzos tossed in. The singers dressed in costume and actually acted out the scenes as opposed to just singing the arias — a bit strange considering that it was performed at Christ Church Deer Park, but entertaining nonetheless..."
