"Mary Breen is opening the Wise Daughters Craft Market in the Junction and the response has been overwhelming. She has been welcomed to the community by bloggers, artists and residents eager to support a new initiative that will feature the work of local artisans and artists. Her two story studio opening Saturday January 31 in the old Pilates Studio on Quebec just south of Dundas promises to be a gathering point for community members of all ages."

Congratulations & much success, Wise Daughters!

Hello Craft Fans,

Hope to see you all this Sat, Jan 30 from 11 – 6 as I celebrate my 1st year in business.

Every visitor to the shop is welcome to fill out a ballot to win one of over 15 wonderful prizes, donated by Wise Daughters’ talented artists. Those are pretty good odds! One lucky winner will take home an original piece of framed encaustic art by Supria Karmakar.

The specially named “Keith Jolie and the Wise Daughters” will perform in the afternoon. If you were here on opening day last year, you’ll remember how awesome this band is. There will be fresh baked treats to snack on while you listen, too.

The shop is freshly stocked with all kinds of great merchandise, so check out what’s new.

At 8 pm, come on back for Nation of Irony Mongers, a romp through the history of Canadian humour, written and performed by Neil Ross. You’ll discover why satire is integral to Canadian democracy, and how irony keeps us from killing each other during the long winter months/black fly season. $12, reservations recommended.

Mary
