JRA members' meeting minutes
The March JRA members' meeting minutes are attached. Please take a few minutes to review them.
JRA Bylaws draft to be considered at the May 13 meeting
At the March meeting, a number of the residents who were present preferred a structure that would have the membership elect an undifferentiated group of people as the Executive Committee, which body would then, later, elect Officers from among their number.
However, at the subsequent meeting of the Executive Committee in April, all of its members felt very uncomfortable with this structure, preferring the more traditional method of seeking out and electing directly persons for specific duties as Officers, plus a few Officers at Large.
Given these strong feelings, we decided to try again to convince the residents who are eligible to vote to approve such a structure (Draft #6a). If that turns out to be impossible, we will have no choice but to present Draft #6b, since it seems unwise to continue much longer with no defined structure at all.
We have also expanded the boundaries and eliminated the "household" membership class.
Please read the attached drafts and be prepared to vote on the bylaws at the May 13 meeting (if you live within the new boundaries).
